Quebec's Chateauguay is located both on the Chateauguay River and the Lac St-Louis, a section of the St. Lawrence River. It is a suburb of Montreal, situated at the confluence of both rivers. During the 2011 Census, the population of Châteauguay was 45,904.

The city has outline environment conservation goals for industrial zones. All the land belonging to the industrial zone is located at the east end of the city along highway A30 and Pierre Boursier Boulevard [3]. The major part of industrial zone land is available for leasing and city management is actively involved in the process of issuing lease contracts.
Almost all the industries are located in the industrial zone. STORCAN has its plant on Industrial Boulevard. Waste management company Terrapure Environmental is located on Rue Belanger road. Plastic manufacturers including CV international plastics and Thermopompes N and R sol are located on Ford Boulevard. There are a couple of warehousing and construction companies also located on Ford Boulevard. The biggest yards on Ford Boulevard belong to Clermont Lte. The biggest warehouse in the city belongs to STCH services and Transportation located on the industrial boulevard.
